Dr. Gabrielle Smiley, O.D.
Dr. Smiley grew up in Durand, Wisconsin, and completed her bachelor’s degree in Physiology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2013. She then graduated with honors from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2017 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. She practices full-scope, primary care optometry with a special interest in ocular disease. She is a current Wisconsin and American Optometric Association member. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband Michael and kids.
Dr. Michael Seebruck, O.D.
Dr. Mike grew up in northwestern Wisconsin and decided on a career in Optometry while in high school. After completing high school, he enrolled at UW-Stevens Point to pursue his biology degree. He trained at the Michigan College of Optometry and was fortunate to serve as the Student Government President. He was also involved in mission trips with VOSH. After finishing four years at the Michigan College of Optometry, Dr. Mike graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2017. He has interest in ocular disease and glaucoma management and is a member of the Wisconsin and American Optometric Associations. Happy to be back in the northern Wisconsin area, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and kids, kayaking, backpacking, and biking.
Dr. Austin Schipper, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Schipper was raised in Richland, Michigan, where he attended Gull Lake High School. After finishing high school he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Western Michigan University. He then went on to graduate with honors from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2017 with his Doctor of Optometry degree. He spent an additional year at the Michigan College of Optometry completing a Residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In his free time, Dr. Schipper enjoys outdoor activities with his wife, kids, and dog as well as spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Tracy Kocemba, O.D.
Dr. Kocemba grew up in Stone Lake, Wisconsin, graduated from Hayward High School, and went to University of Wisconsin-River Falls for her Bachelor of Science degree. She moved on to the Illinois College of Optometry and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997. After finishing her degree, she moved back to Hayward and has been practicing with Northview Eye Associates since 2017. She has also worked in Superior, Wisconsin, for about a decade for the former Vista Optical. She and her husband Steve have been married over 20 years and have a small hobby farm with goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. They both love to garden, swim, and kayak.
Heather
Heather grew up in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School. She has 20 years of experience in medical administration and billing. Heather joined Northview Eye Associates team in 2016. She enjoys helping patients and working with her NVEA family! Outside of the clinic you can find Heather spending time with her family or enjoying the outdoors.
Tara
Tara is the office manager at the Spooner location. She has enjoyed helping people with their eyeglasses for over two decades. She loves living in nearby Shell Lake with her husband and three kids.
Sally
Sally is the office manager at our Rice Lake location. She has been an optician for over 26 years. Her favorite part of being an optician is making a difference in the patient experience and touching our patients’ lives through their vision. Sally is married with 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Her passion is for the outdoors, especially in or on the water; swimming, fishing and kayaking.
Alycia
Alycia has been with Northview Eye Associates as an optometric technician since 2021. Her role is to communicate any vision or eye health concerns from the patient to the doctor to make each day as efficient as possible. She enjoys being able to learn and grow each day with Northview and help each patient with their desired wants and needs. Outside of work, Alycia loves spending time with family and friends, working on her truck, and going to Snocross during the cold months.
Krista
Krista has been an optometric technician at Northview since August of 2021. She enjoys the friendly, patient focused environment of the clinic and has worked in a clinical setting for over 7 years prior to joining Northview. She lives in Springbrook with her husband and is the mom to 7 children and grandmother to 11 grandchildren.
Beth
Beth is an optometric technician and has been working in the Spooner office since November 2021. When she is not in the office she enjoys hiking and exploring the next waterfall on the Lake Superior coastline.
Alyssa
Alyssa grew up in Mazeppa, MN, and recently moved to Hayward to be with her husband, Andrew. She has over six years of experience in reception work and joined the Northview team in 2021. Alyssa enjoys helping people to the best of her abilities. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and pets, which includes her cats and horses.
Sami
Sami has been an optician at Northview Eye Associates since 2017. She is currently studying to become a certified optician. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing things such as camping, racing, and being on the lake!
Megan
Megan has been a receptionist at NVEA since March of 2022, after working in customer service for decades. She and her husband have been in Washburn County for 13 years and love it here.
Melisa
Melisa has been with Northview Eye Associates for 8 yrs. She recently became an ABO certified optician and loves putting a smile on patients faces with their new eyeglasses, especially kids. She has 4 children, and her hobbies are watching her kid’s sports, fishing, hunting, and 4 wheeling.
Barb
Barb has over 30 years of experience in the optical field. She enjoys helping people select the right frame and lenses to give them the clearest vision possible, from a child's first pair, to glasses after cataract surgery. When she's not at the eye clinic, Barb likes to spend time in her garden, work shop, or on her bike.
Becky
Becky has been an optician in the Spooner office since October 2020, since relocating from the Twin Cities bringing with her several years of eye care experience. When away from the office she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jen
Jen has been an optician for eight years at Northview Eye Associates. She is married to her patient husband of 29 years and has two creative daughters. When not spending time with her family, you can find Jen behind her sewing machine.
Tina
Tina moved here from Illinois to raise her son Rocco closer to family. She has been in optical for 26 years and loves to help patients find their perfect glasses to fit their needs! Tina loves to pontoon and swim with family and friends.
Tammie
Tammie joined Northview Eye Associates in January 2020. As an Optician she enjoys how each day offers new experiences with learning opportunities and creating ongoing relationships with our patients. Tammie enjoys fishing and gardening in her free time.
Lakota
Lakota was born and raised in Hayward. She has 15 years of customer service experience specializing in being a personal shopper. She joined NVEA in 2022 is working on becoming an ABO certified optician. As much as she loves her job, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband and kids outdoors or playing games.
Melissa
Melissa has been employed with Northview Eye Associates since March of 2022 after working twenty plus years with adults with developmental disabilities. In her free time, Melissa loves to spend time with her husband, family and friends. Her favorite activities are traveling, going to the car races, camping and fishing.
Tara
Tara was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. She has lived in Hayward, WI for 20 years and has a background in retail and banking. She is excited to be starting a new journey in Optometry by helping others feel comfortable and happy with their eyewear. Outside of work, you can find her working on custom tumblers, at the hockey rink, or simply spending time with her husband of 15 years and 3 children.
Hannah
Hannah joined Northview Eye Associates in 2023 as an optician. She enjoys traveling, snowmobiling and watching her kids' sports. Spending time with her family is the most important thing to her.
Abby
Abby joined NVEA in August 2023 as a receptionist. After 10 years of working in childcare, she was ready for a new adventure. She lives in Trego with her husband, 3 kids and many animals. She loves traveling and is always up for new adventures.
Ola
Ola grew up in Hayward graduating from Hayward High (Go Hurricanes!) She and her husband have one son. She joined Northview Eye Associates in July 2023. She comes from the retail and financial worlds and looks forward to using skills acquired in those worlds to get you the most out of the optical world.
Courtney
Courtney has been an Optician for Northview Eye Associates since December 2022. She loves working with patients and enjoys seeing their reactions to new glasses. Courtney is Married to Tyler and the mother of 3 energetic little girls that keep her very busy at home.
Jenifer
Jenifer has been an Optician with NVEA in Rice Lake since December 2022. Married to husband for 35 years and has 2 grown children: a daughter and son. and a precious granddaughter Sadie but we can't forget her loves her dogs. She has worked construction for 13 years and home health care and working with Adults with special needs. Jenifer loves spending time with family, and enjoys camping and hiking. In her spare time she loves to craft.
